Biggar
Community Hall

About.

It was early in 2018 in a cold and windy Saskatchewan rural town, when the idea of a fibre fair in Biggar took shape. It was partly born out of frustration and partly out of curiosity. We always had to travel to other provinces to be part of a fibre community and we were curious to find the hidden fibre artists in this wild and wonderful province.

And what a journey it has been!

The Biggar Fibre Fair has grown from an idea 2 sisters had around a dining room table to an annual fundraising event hosted by the Lionel A. Jones Wheatland Regional Library.

We are 3 librarians who are avid learners, fibre enthusiasts and passionate about sharing our love for all things fibre with the next generation. The Biggar Fibre Fair is our attempt in showcasing our community by inviting the fibre community to join us for a day of shopping, doing workshops, learning from demonstrations and visiting with other like-minded people.

So many people have helped us reach this point. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done to spread the message of the benefits of working with fibre.
